The Ammann ART 240 is a heavy-duty pneumatic tire roller built for asphalt compaction, road construction, and soil and aggregate work where you need consistent coverage and control over compaction pressure. With a 100 HP Deutz engine, 78.2-inch working width, and 22,267-lb operating weight, the ART 240 gives contractors the flexibility to handle a wide range of paving and compaction applications.
The ART 240 can be ballasted up to 52,911 pounds, allowing operators to adjust the machine’s weight and compaction output to match the material and job. Its eight-tire, 4+4 configuration provides consistent tire contact across the working width, while the 2-inch tire overlap helps provide even coverage across the surface.
Ammann’s Air-on-the-Run tire inflation system lets the operator adjust tire pressure directly from the cab, making it easier to fine-tune the roller for changing jobsite conditions. The machine also features Ammann Traction Control, hydrodynamic rear-axle drive, and isostatic leveling of the front axles to help maintain traction and consistent tire contact.
With a maximum transport speed of 11.8 mph and a 460-gallon water tank for tire watering, the ART 240 is built to keep crews productive on larger paving and compaction projects. It can be used for asphalt base layers, binder layers, wearing courses, soil bases, sub-base work, and stabilization.
If you’re looking for a versatile pneumatic tire roller that can be adjusted for different materials and jobsite conditions, the Ammann ART 240 offers the weight, working width, and flexibility needed for demanding compaction work.
